Plus Buck Butterson has a nicer ring than Miller Butterson-too many “ers” in it. One of Lance’s puck bunnies uses the nickname I’ve answered to since I was a kid. “Then I don’t have to call you fifty times to get your ass up,” Lance adds. “You can roll out of bed and right into the pool.” “The trainer’ll be at Lance’s at ten-thirty, remember?” Randy says. “Just get in the limo, man.” Lance looks to Randy, another teammate and one of my closest childhood friends, for backup. “I can get it in the morning.” My words run together, but he seems to understand. Lance puts a hand on my shoulder, his grin sloppy. I take an unstable step toward the line of waiting cabs outside the bar. “I’mma go home.” In my head those are the words I’m speaking, but in reality I think it comes out more like a groan.

Their story is great–him a hot as f*ck hockey player with a screwed up past. Lance and Poppy have just the perfect chemistry and we wanted to switch places with her. We love her writing and we were so invested in this couple! This is Jen’s first book by Helena, but Roxie has read quite a few of hers and loved them! We have to say, she gave us the tingles. It did not disappoint! It can be read as a standalone, but reading it in order is a great idea since you get to meet the other couples. But she makes it difficult, because she’s the kind of bad I deserve.Īt least that’s what I believed until someone from my past gets caught up in my present. Ones I shared with the wrong person, and she used them against me.
Not because I like the notoriety, but because I don’t know how to be any other way.
